About

The purpose of Catastrophe Network is to empower citizens before disasters strike by providing relevant preparedness information, by connecting that information to current world events that may lead to future catastrophes, and by encouraging people to form their own catastrophe networks. Personal preparedness is key to surviving any future catastrophe. However, there is strength in numbers and even more strength in organized numbers. The catastrophe network concept encourages people to reach out to friends, family, and neighbors they trust to form a mutual support network that they would activate during future catastrophes. In addition, the catastrophe network concept takes local networking one step further, by establishing common operating guidelines for networks across the country to follow. In doing so, each network is made stronger by having pre-established conventions in place for reaching out to other networks to share information and potentially assist one another during a crisis.

Catastrophe Network was created in January 2011.  Please click here if you have questions, comments, or are interested in the concept and would like to contact us.
